PROS of Sony MEXBT3900U In-Dash CD Receiver
1) The quality of the hands-free calling is excellent! I can hear the callers very well through my car speakers (volume is loud and easy to hear!). Also, callers can hear me very well without any issues, even while driving at high speeds. Please note, that I use an external microphone Sony XAMC10 External Mic for BT (Black), which I highly recommend purchasing. Please see my review on that external microphone where I have added photos of where I suggest the optimal microphone placement is to get the best quality- i.e. to the left on the visor, which is close to your mouth). I didn't even use the built-in microphone (which is located on the stereo faceplate) because of the published bad reviews about the quality of the built-in microphone. I don't know if some of the issues people are having with hands-free call quality with this car stereo is related to not having an external microphone, or if they have one, whether it is placed in an optimal location.

2) When a phone call comes in, and you're listening to music (even when you're listening to music over Bluetooth via A2DP), the music pauses, and the phone call comes through. When the phone call ends, the music starts right back up. Very smooth.

Right out the box I thought it was too small for my ginormigantuan galaxy note, but once I found the release button it fit pretty snug. I doubt that it will fit with my hybrid case, but it does fit with my smaller green Android guy case. I'll update this once I try the hybrid case with it

I bought this unit with a specific purpose in mind using the RDS functionality. I just recieved this unit yesterday and it is pretty impressive considering the low costs and RDS functionality.

1. Sound - This is tricky. The sound is good using USB and SD cards as your source. However, the sound is great when you use the Analog input(2.5mm input I would have expected the sound to be better with USB/SD cards. I was blown away when I played my Sony MP3 player thru the input jack. It sounded great. 4.5 Stars here)
2.) Power - This is powered by a 12v cigarette lighter plug. I wanted to use it in the house and power it from an AC outlet. I used a litte converter specifically designed for that purpose. On other units, as soon as you plug the unit into AC, you get a nasty little hum, and sometimes static. When this unit, it is very clean, no hum at all. Five Stars for that)
3.) Ease of Use - This unit has a very simple display that can be cryptic if you don't read the instructions. It is easier to use via the remote control,than the buttons on the unit. Most notable is the equalizer display which also doubles as a Volume Unit VU) meter. The instructions don't mention that, but that is how it works. There is also a volume control on the remote, but not on the unit itself. You can save up to 7 FM freqencies in memory and use the remote to scan the frequencies, pretty cool.

While I did not get this 2013 New Model Pioneer  Multimedia DVD Receiver,  I am very impressed so far. Its a little disapointing that Pioneer does not include the CD-IU201S interface cable. All the apps and things you would like to run on this beautiful unit is an extra charge.(Pandora is the exception) The Advanced App mode is great as long as you have that piece. I went with this unit because I didnt neccessarily need navigation. Motion X GPS Drive is a great is a great TBT NAV app, pretty inexpensive, but Pioneer make them charge you 24.99 to display it on the unit. kinda frustrating. The unit is easy to use and nice to look at. I have this paired with an Alpine 500W amp, 2 12" Kicker comp subs and the upgraded Boston Acoustic speakers in my 2006 Dodge Charger RT.
